Why you should add J.D. McKissic

Going into week 7 a lot of fantasy managers are going to have problems managing their byes. Week 7 is a slaughter house in terms of players gone. You have the Bills, Cowboys, Jags, Chargers, Vikings, and Steelers all on bye this week. This means you'll be missing players like Diggs, Allen, Knox, Cooper, Lamb, Zeke, Schultz, Robinson, Williams, Ekeler, Keenan Allen, Thielen, Jefferson, Cook, Johnson, Harris and more. That's a whole lot of points missing this week for fantasy managers. Its entirely plausible that many teams would be missing both their starting running backs or wide receivers or one of each. This is why this weeks waiver wire is going to be super important. A lot of managers might be looking at D'Ernest Johnson of the Browns after Hunts injury. Something to remember with that however is there is a chance Chubb plays this week which would render Johnson fairly irrelevant. The short week does make Chubb less likely to play than maybe a Sunday game. My eyes however are on J.D. McKissic as a name to go add. McKissic is and has always been a prolific receiving back which is huge for PPR leagues. Gibson has been banged up recently with a shin injury and has been playing through it. However, Gibson left the game early last week and is listed as questionable going into this week. I expect Washington to rest him this week to try and help the shin. This would leave McKissic in a lead role for Washington. While his rushing yards will likely be nothing to be excited about his constant presence on the field as the lead back will allow him to see plenty of targets. Last week with Gibson out and J.D. seeing the majority of the work he was able to rack up 19 fantasy points in full PPR leagues. Even if Gibson is to play I see him leaving the game early again or seeing a light workload allowing McKissic to be on the field plenty. In a week full of byes I can see McKissic being a good spot start for week 7.
